Later style plate from a 12/20 H.P. loco, built 1936. Althought a number of variations are known to exist, the majority of plates from the Motor Rail Ltd. era are similar to this one. During the Second World War cast iron plates were temporarily substituted for brass.

Aluminium plates were introduced in the late 1960s incorporating the new Motor Rail logo. Plates after 1969 also incorporated the logo of the Queen's Award For Industry.
